Set Up the mega macs PRO

The mega macs PRO app is already available on the display unit upon delivery.

1. Switch on the display unit for the first time

When the display unit is switched on for the first time, the setup wizard starts automatically.

The setup wizard assists with the basic initial setup of the display unit and allows the following settings:

NOTICE! The setup wizard opens the native Android settings of the display unit for the prevailing configuration steps. The selected settings are adopted for the entire system. The language of the mega macs PRO app corresponds to the language set up in the display unit.

The front page appears after having completed all setup steps. Now you can start the mega macs PRO app.

2. Start mega macs PRO

  1. Select the mega macs PRO app.
  2. Start the mega macs PRO app.

3. Pair the VCI

  1. Ensure power supply to the VCI.

  2. NOTICE

    The initial setup requires power supply of the VCI. There are two options for that:

    A: USB interface of PC/tablet (exclusively use the enclosed USB cable for the connection!)

    B: Diagnostic connection in the vehicle

    Only connect the the OBD plug to the vehicle when the ignition is switched off. Then switch on the ignition again so that the VCI has power supply.

  3. Check the operational readiness of the VCI using the LED light (see section Meaning of the LED status display of the VCI).
  4. Select >Continue<.
  5. Grant the required Bluetooth® and location authorizations.
  6. Select the requested VCI.
  7. Compare the displayed VCI device number with the VCI type plate.
  8. NOTICE! The displayed VCI device number corresponds to the number on the VCI type plate.
  9. Select >Pair<.

4. Log in with your Hella Gutmann account

NOTICE

A Hella Gutmann account is required for logging in to mega macs PRO (see section Hella Gutmann Account and License Booking).

If you already have a Hella Gutmann account but if you have forgotten your password, you can reset a new password under >Password forgotten<.

  1. Enter the access data.
  2. Select >Login<.

5. Download diagnostic data

  1. Required data is downloaded after login (download speed depending on Internet connection).
  2. Do not switch off the display unit and do not disconnect the Internet connection during the download.
  3. After the download is complete, the mega macs PRO app will open.

6. Accept license terms

The end user license agreement must be accepted on initial startup.

  1. Scroll to the end of the respective document.
  2. Select the required checkboxes.
  3. Then select >Accept<.

7. Complete the setup

The mega macs PRO is now ready for operation.
