Starting the guided positioning

For functional principle and mode description see section Guided Positioning.

Proceed as follows:

1. Start guided positioning
• Select >Guided positioning<.
2. Select vehicle
3. The following options are available for the vehicle selection:
4. New selection:
• Option 1: Search and select vehicle through VIN or HSN/TSN.
• Option 2: Select vehicle through Manufacturer > Series > Model > Suspension.
5. Previously selected vehicles:
• Select the vehicle directly from the overview or use the search and filter function.
6. Suspension selection:
• Select the suspension for newly selected vehicles and vehicles processed last.
• Select >Continue<.
3. Select calibration type
4. Select the calibration type and proceed with >Continue<.
4. Check the required hardware for the selected calibration
5. Check if the indicated hardware is complete and ready for operation and confirm with >Continue<.
5. Select the reason for calibration.
6. Select the applicable reason and confirm with >Continue<.
6. Confirm preconditions
7. Check the preconditions indicated in the Cali-OS by using the check list.
8. Confirm fulfilled points by activating the check boxes and select >Continue<.
7. Measure height of wheel arch edges
8. Measurement can be done with the following methods:
9. Measurement with Bluetooth laser distance meter:
• >Select measurement device<
• Switch on the laser distance meter.
• Select a device from the list > Connect > Back.
10. Manual measurement:
• Measure the height of the wheel arch edges.
• Enter the measured values in the Cali-OS.
11. Select >Continue< after having completed the measurement.
8. Attach wheel clamps & 3D panels
• Position the CSC-Tool PRO in front of the vehicle.
• Attach the wheel clamps and 3D panels and level them (see section Attaching the wheel clamps).
9. Select >Continue< if the 3D panels are exactly vertical.
9. Register the position three-dimensionally
10. Move the vehicle forwards and backwards according to the instructions in the Cali-OS, until the three-dimensional position has been captured.
11. Then select >Continue<.
10. Confirm safety precautions
11. Apply the parking brake and confirm with >Applied<.
11. Align the CSC-Tool PRO
12. NOTICE! The monitor shall be in standard alignment position. The default setting corresponds to the horizontal alignment of the monitor.
• Align the CSC-Tool PRO centered and parallel in front of the vehicle.

• NOTICE

  

  Position the CSC-Tool PRO in a way that distance, parallelism and centering correspond to the nominal values in the Cali-OS display.

• Operate the left and right brakes with the foot.
• Select >Continue<.
13. Then:
• Adjust the height of the monitor with the lower button in the Cali-OS (push button and keep pushed to adjust the height automatically).
• Select >Continue<.
12. Perform calibration in the diagnostic device
13. The reference panel is automatically indicated on the monitor.
14. Perform the calibration step in the diagnostic device.
15. Select >Continue<.
13. Save protocol
14. To save the protocol in the Car History, enter the VIN and kilometer/mileage reading and select >Save<.
15. You can skip this step if necessary.
16. NOTICE! Here the protocol is indicated in the next steps but it is not saved in the Car History.
14. Complete the calibration
15. Select >Completed< to complete the procedure.
16. The calibration protocol is indicated.
17. Optional:
• You can print out the protocol with >Print<:
• Select the protocol content and proceed with >Continue<.
• Enter all the data that shall appear on the protocol printout and confirm with >Continue<.
• or
• Send the protocol with >Send< to the stored e-mail address:
• Select the protocol content and proceed with >Continue<.
• Enter all the data that shall be included in the protocol and confirm with >Send<.
